키오스크 트레이닝 센터 레지던시 프로그램 선정 작가 발표

 

스페이스 위버멘쉬는 올해 상반기 레지던시 참여 작가로 김동찬 예술가를 선정하였습니다. 레지던시 공모에 지원해 주신 많은 예술가분들께 감사드립니다.

 

이번 공모는 1차 서류 심사와 2차 온라인 인터뷰로 진행되었으며, 기술과 지역의 관계를 예술가 나름의 언어로 해석하고 적용하는 작가분들을 우선적으로 선정하였습니다. 특히, 예술적 표현 방법론과 작업의 메커니즘이 개인의 삶과 철학에 맞닿고 더 나아가 자신 뿐만 아니라 어떻게 사회적 집단을 탐구하는지에 대한 기준으로 살펴보았습니다.

 

레지던시 프로그램에 선정된 김동찬의 작업은 동력과 방향성의 최소화 단위인 자전거 두 개의 바퀴를 통해 하나의 공통 중심이 아닌 동시다발적으로 여러 중심이 가능한 개인이 도래하기 좋은 환경을 꿈꾸며, 레이더 기술과 기능을 바탕으로 스스로의 모험을 제시합니다.

Kiosk Training Centre residency programme artist announced.

 

Space Üebermensch is pleased to announce the selection of artist Dongchan Kim as the artist in residence for the first half of this year. Thank you to the many artists who applied for the residency.

 

The application process consisted of a first round of document review and a second round of online interviews, with priority given to artists who interpret and apply the relationship between technology and local place in their own artistic language. In particular, we looked at how the methodology of artistic expression and the operating of the work relate to the individual's life and philosophy, and how they explore not only themselves but also social groups.

 

Selected for the residency programme, Kim's work uses the minimal unit of force and direction, the two wheels of a bicycle, to present a unique adventure based on radar technology and functionality, envisioning an environment conducive to the arrival of the individual, where multiple centres are possible simultaneously, rather than one common direction.
